1987 f250 stick slave cylinder remove

I pulled the tranny.
1.I and can't seem to be able to drop the slave cylinder from the bell housing.
2. this truck with a 460 has a flywheel cover which is 1 (one) piece. How can I keep the throwout bearing in place while I insert the pilot shaft after I replace the flywheel ring gear??

The release/throwout bearing should clip into the release fork, which then clips into the bell housing. I'm not terribly familiar with what slave cylinder was used on the 460, but the one on my 302 was bolted to the bell housing, and was held into the bracket with a spring clip.

Well that was easy used a screw driver to pry the base out on the slave and dropped it.

Still cant figure why the backing plate/view plate is one piece.
