finally!!
Well the truck is finally running. I could not figure it out for the life of me, and i'm no mechanic. But after replacing the fuel pump, ecm, relays, fuses, fuel filter, and ignition switch; i found a bad jumper wire behind the dash where the fuel tank selector switch would have been had it had 2 tanks. of coarse! anyways, thanks for the help, in the end it was 3 screws and 30 cents.

well it has been over a year since i posted this thread and just wanted to update in case anyone has had similar problems. After months of trial and error and about 500 in parts i have figured out the problem. behind the dash was a small jumper wire in place of the fuel tank selector switch. being that there is only one tank there is no need for the switch but a wire is in place instead and it was bad. wow the aggervation. but you'll be happy to know it is still alive today (with a broken leg) but despite my wifes nagging i will nurse it back to health once more.
