Transmission Interchange Question

I have a 2000 Ford F-150 it is the extended cab. 4.2 litre engine and 5 speed transmission and it is 2 wheel drive. It has the small doors that open in a suicide fashion. Like a complete idiot i put stop leak in the master cylinder of the clutch. So it failed on me. I thought all i would have to do is put a clutch kit back in it and all would be good. Upon taking the transmission out the guy at the shop said that it was bad. The shaft that goes into the engine you can move it around easily. I don't know anything about transmissions so the only thing i can do is get another one. I have been looking around and i found a transmission. When i talked to the guy at the transmission shop he said that the 2000 models came with 2 different transmission in them. So my question is this....... My transmission has this on it and this is on a sticker...

XL34
VC
D780559

and in metal it has ....

S530
2

Now the gentleman that has the other transmission he said that he could only find these numbers on his transmission.....

f65a
and
c405832

now my question is this. Will the two transmissions interchange? His transmission comes out of a 1997 Ford F-150 with a V6 engine in it as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Keith
