In the winter it is. Summers get HOT and humid. I'd like the winters to be shorter, but what do you do? Just take what you get.

Yeah. Our normal winters are just the right length for me, but this hasn't been a normal winter. We had 4 weeks of winter in December/January, now we are in a protracted spring.

We ussually get the odd -20C/-4F or colder spell, but its mostly lows of minus 15C/5F and highs of -5C/23F. Coldest I have ever seen here was -40C/F.

This winter has been brutal for us. We've set a record for having at least one inch of snow on the ground, 86 days so far. The old record was 74. And we have a lot more than an inch!

We are having a record year, but its for low snowpacks, not high
It should mean that there will be no flooding threat this year, but will also mean things will dry up earlier in the summer.

If we get a quick thaw, the flooding here will be nasty. No worries at my house, but people down south around the rivers will be in trouble. Plus, our plant is on the river also, so we have to kind of sweat high water levels. And all the crap that can get dragged into the river.

I would think a plant like that would have one heck of a berm system to prevent flooding and erosion?

Well, we sit up a ways from the river, but there is still a chance of flooding. We can basically seal doors from flood waters. I'm just hoping we never have to get to that point!

Yeah. We are lucky, the land isn't exactly flat, so only very small areas can get flooded.

My house is 200' higher then the river, so I am pretty safe

The flood plains around here are extremely small, since the terrain is so mountianous.

My house is the same way. If it floods there, then most of the country will be under water!!
