53-56 F100 Tire and Wheel combo

I need some wheel and tire help. I have a 56 that has been dropped about 6" all around that is currently running 235/75R-15's on all corners. I have the stance where I want it and the 235/75 looks great from the side but from the *** end they look so small in the wheel well. The fenders are stock by the way. I have tried 255/75's and they do not look good at all. Any body have some advise? Pictures would be great. Thanks

maybe try a 255/60 r15 it's about an 1" shorter then 235/75r15. i'm assuming that your saying the 255 it too tall but the width is ok?

If you want a fatter tire that's the same height as the 235/75, try a 255/70 or a 275/65. Here's a great link I like to play with to compare tire sizes.

I think if you went with 60 series on the rear the profile would be too low compared to the 75s on the front. I think you could get by with a 70 series though and keep the 75s on the front. The 255/70 would be my choice...

In other words the diameter is ok but the width is too narrow. You have to be careful going too wide withthe tread out that far from the wheel. And you have to be careful to not make you r tread wider than the wheel rim. What width 15" wheel do you have on the back.

Here are a couple comparison charts that might help you calculate something the same height, but wider:

What recommended backspace on an 8" wheel?

Im wondering if you have a measurement for say an 8" wheel in front with 255-60 or thereabouts. Is that a reasonable wheel and tire for a 53 with lowered stock suspension? Thanks for any clarification!
