My DD '94 has 106K on it and runs like a champ. As far as I know, every major mechanical part is original. I bought a '95 for a body donor and it has 217K on it, and after i threw a new battery, starter and solenoid it it it runs fairly well other than cranking pretty eccessively to start. It leaks a good bit too. Our '85 dump has 29K on origianl everything other than the clutch. The original owner was a friend of ours and despite a good effort, really couldn't drive a stick. My '77 has 98k on it, but the original engine is long gone. My dad regrets swapping it out instead of rebuilding, and insists the truck ran for over a year with little or no oil pressure. He also says he could have screwed up and should've just put a new oil pressure sender in it first.

I had 300K and change on my 92 i6 before it went down the road... Got to rusty and was a bear to work on after everything starts to fall apart from rust (dang iowa winters needing all that salt!). I have 230k on my 88 f-250 with ZF 5spd that is my daily driver now... little rougher ride than the F-150's though! congrats on the new truck! how cold is jersey Frederic???? iowa has been 5F to -6F lately...

It's 21 degrees where I am minus whatever the windchill factor is. Anything below 50 feels cold to me so it's freezing
Drivwfo - the vast mileage I got out of this one (so far) makes up for the '81 crewcab I had before it that barely made it 90K before I gave up on it as a 'daily driver' and turned into one big "mud toy" and bought this one.

I feel for all you guys with the cold.. as a PA transplant to SoCal about 10 yrs ago I can say I don't miss it.. It was 75+ this weekend and I think the coldest I have seen it lately was 47 when I left for work this morning.
As for the daily driver part, my work commute is only 2.5 miles each way so I think I will manage just fine with the F250..even with the 460.. I have to get some pics up eventually..

as redneck as this may sound i would miss hunting and bumper sledding if I left Iowa... Others can keep their 75 degree weather... I'd rather have the seasons change and have some fun in the snow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not too sure how many Old Rusty has on him. Know it turned over at least once, Showed between 40 -45thou when I bought him. Title said between 50 -55thou. Know it didn't go down. Other thing is after I bought it the guy told me it had a new Jasper longblock about 40 - 45thou ago. No paperwork ( " Lost in a divorce " ). Haven't gotten energetic enough to look under him for the tag on the engine it should have IF it really is a Jasper. Regardless, runs great. Just took it on a road trip last week, about 300 miles round trip. 14.7 MPG with a 302 / E4OD & 3.55 gears ( if they are original. One problem with buying used, no knowledge of the history. ). Tach showed about 2,000 at 70 MPH in OD.

Yeah, it's cold here but not as cold as Iowa, that's for sure. I've been out that way in the winter... brrrrrrr
Nothing wrong with "redneck". Just because I wore a business suit every day for 20 years doesn't mean I left the cowboy boots at home even though I'm not from texas.
It's all good.
