newbie from Au.

New to this site, but as of the end of the week I'll be here alot.
Just bought a 60 mod. f100 4x4 very rare here in Australia & no
spares for them here.
So I guess I will be freighting lots of stuff. The truck is all there
parts wise , but got a few rust issues like rear cab corners, floor
next to kick panel, bottom of fenders etc. Its a step side which
I've found was an option. Its been converted to right hand drive
has a bronco front end with coils & power steer.
Motor is a 351 C4 & the transfer is divorced, is that normal for
this mod. or has this been added ???
Will post some pics when I get it home.

cheers Jeff [Western Australia]

Welcome

I am a newbie here myself - I've found nothing but help and advice around here

I know where you're at with having spares issues and freighting as I am in south-west France with a 51 and get all I need from USA.

Welcome to the board!!

I think the fridgerator years (57-60) trucks sure look tough as 4x4's. As a teenager I made a 60 F-100 into a 4x4 by using all the running gear from a 75 F-150.

It was a fun truck

Good luck with it

Jeff,
Welcome to the site (and another Aussie ) Where in WA are you located? We have a few members from the "big west"!

I am pretty sure that yours will be a US built model. 1960 was the 2nd year of the 4x4 factory models, and divorced T-cases were the only option till 1966 (and still available with certain models after that)

Welcome aboard!

They're not my years but I'm pretty sure all your powertrain would be mod. The divorced transfer case is a plus though, means you can swap out your powertrain without having to redo your case or drive shafts. Course the 351 probably won't be something you'd want to swap out, I'm planning on a 351w for mine... great engine.

Well finally got it home. The following day cleaned all the junk out of
the back & pulled the rotted bed floor out. Got keen & pulled the whole
step bed off & found, yes you guessed it more rust !! So the back of the cab is in need of work as well. The joys of old trucks!!
Going to start stripping the cab down this weekend, hopefully 1 or 2 bolts
will loosen as I've had to cut every bolt so far..
Pics are coming!!!

Jeff
