It rained until about 1230-1300 yesterday, but within an hour it went from rain to sleet to snow. Overnight we got about 4" of the stuff sitting on the ground. Got up at 0500 this morning to take the wife to work (stinks being a nurse) in the Pavement Princess. The driving wasn't too bad...but I'm sure it will be fun in the morning once everything starts to melt today....and refreeze over night.

So what do you guys think my best choice is if i have to get out in this?
1) fwd escape with general altimax rt
or
2) rwd 250 with hankook dynapro atm
weighted up in the back with something, of course
I dont think the 500 is even an option, its too low.. we got about 4" of snow
The escape did really well with at tires on it, but wife wanted something that was good in water, so thats what she got..
looks to me they would be pretty worthless in snow

I've been out in the stuff off & on all day with no issue; and that's in a 2WD truck with nothing in the bed. The guys with 4WD just end up further away from the tow truck when they get in trouble. Drive with some sense and you'll be fine. Think of it as a challenge to get the best possible fuel mileage...slow starts, slow stops no sudden changes in throttle, keep the engine RPM down and everything will be alright.

Morning everyone...during the news last night the the head weather guesser said we were blessed with 6" of snow Friday night into Saturday morning. The roads weren't cold enough for it to stick...so most of them are clear now. But it sure is beautiful to see snow on the ground again. Funny thing is I was riding my scooter a week ago because of the warm weather.
