Drivetrain

Hey guys, well I have the body pretty much done now, I posted pics in my album. I have a few questions before I finish the drivetrain. I am transplanting a 1978 dana 44 front and dana 60 rear into the 1960 F100 4x4, I have a 5.?? matched set now and its way to much for my daily driver so the new one is 4.10. I am also putting in a AOD tranny that I'm bolting up to a 1970 windsor from a 70 galaxie 500 as soon as I'm done rebuilding it. I already have a previous 351w installed but its manual. The question I have is besides the trans brace I have to change is there anything else I will have to do besides changing the driveshaft length? Thanks again in advance.

Since I just found out I have an AOD with my 302 I've been digging into AOD swap information. The AOD is a half inch longer than a C4 if you have the one with the short tailshaft. There is a longer one. I don't know how the C4 matches to a standard shift in length but if it's the same length you might not even have to shorten the driveshaft. The C4 yoke will also work in the AOD with a little trimming but again I'm not sure if the standard shift yoke is the same as a C4. The transmission mount will have to be moved back a couple of inches and you will need a Lokar cable (KD2AODHT) and bracket (SRK4000) to replace the detent cable if you are running a carburetor. I'm not totally sure but I think you will need a 164 tooth flywheel which the Windsor engine should already have.

Thank you for the information sounds like it's going to be a fairly easy swap. And thanks for the kickdown PN's, I'm sure that saved me hours of fab work.
