No provision for a mechanical pump on this EFI engine. I've already taken the bolts out of the bed and was going to modify the fuel pick up and use an electric pump, but was told they make a bypass pressure regulator that uses the stock fittings. Just haven't looked for one yet.
The damn computer was the reason I switched back to carb. It fried 3 of them. The last one lasted 1/2 an hour! No computers or FI for this ol fart.........

Back when I was a chevy guy in HS, I knew a kid who's dad threw all sorts of money at him to build this old Hi boy with a fully built 460 with all the bells and whistles.. sounded good, looked good... Another friend who lived in his neighborhood heard of him getting noise complaint tickets for it for running it in the morning etc and coming in late at night. It was quite an impressive truck. I heard he lost interest in it, had it "stolen" and used the insurance money to buy a honda "race" car... So the story goes. I didn't know the kid personally, other than enough to know he was a grade A a hole.. I do know he stopped driving it or that it wasn't around anymore and did see him driving around in an accord.. fwiw...
Get the in tank pump for a 85- 89 ford pickup. that's the one that had low pressure pump in tank, high pressure pump in frame rail. You can rewire the pump to work off the key, it will be like the old style in tank holley. You need the fuel reserve can and transfer switch too (87-89) ( it's mechanical) if you're running both tanks. I can make you a wiring diagram to make it all work off the key, and still cut off if you have an accedent
