1970 F250 what it's worth???
I am looking into this truck. It's a former military truck. It's a F250, 4x4, 4spd, 300 six banger, stepside and a highboy. The stepside bed is 8ft which I think is kinda rare. The truck is surprisingly solid with only mild rot in the usual areas. comes with a ton of extra parts and a paper trail. So my first questions is how rare is an 8 ft stepside highboy? And what is an approx. value for these. It was a running driving truck when parked.

Five bucks? Just kidding. A running truck is $200 - $1000 in my area. A solid truck goes up from there. Check craigslist etc for local pricing. 4x's are less common than 2x's... This isn't a 67 muscle car you're looking at, so expect to pay accordingly.
Checking on the other website (who's name we must not mention, but ends in ification.com) shows production numbers of zero or maybe 'unknown' 1970 step-side 4x4 f100 pickups. Given that, I would check the pedigree of the truck...

It's Flareside, a Stepside is a CHEVROLET.
The reason for the unknown quanity of 1970 F100/250 4WD Flaresides is: Ford no longer has these specific 1970 production figures available.
1969 F100/250 4WD production figures are available as are 1971 F100 4WD's, but not for F250's.
1969 F100 4WD Flareside: 465 / F250 4WD Flareside: 563.
1971 F100 4WD Flareside 4WD: 591.
The reason for the missing records is: In the late 1980's Ford was going to throw all the data pertaining to 1967/79 FoMoCo vehicles into the trash.
Kevin Marti, a Mustang nut in AZ found about this and got it ALL.
So...if you want to know the specific's, you have to get it from martiauto.com
There is a fee for this service, which is known as a Marti Report.

You can find out exactly how many 1970 4WD Flaresides were made, but...
The more info you ask for (specifics like bed length, engine size, Custom or Standard Cab and etc), the price goes up.
I have all sorts of US F100/350 production figures (and...they won't cost you a cent!), but not much specifically after 1973.
1973 and later, the 2WD/4WD figures are usually lumped together, as are the Styleside/Flareside figures.
In other words, in 1973, Ford assembled 429,664 F100's of all body types.

Bill, do you think the marti report would be able to detail how many 1967 *mercury* 250 4x4's were built? I've never seen a break out between ford and mercury...
Oh yeah, good dig on the 'flairside' vs 'stepside'! I'm re-training from a chev background (after coming over from the 'darkside')... lol...
