I just bought a 96 explorer last night and i love it. Has leather, power everything, 43000 miles, 4x4 (had a neon and civic before big difference) , but i am alittle confused. The motor is a v-6 and has efi on the top of it (intake i guess). So do i have the hov engine that makes around 205hp? but from looking around i see that the hov was'nt available on the 96 only the 160hp motor was, so how is this possible or am I just a stupid noobie? Hey 96, welcome to FTE bud.

I'm not real up on these newer motors but it sounds like you answered your own question. Most likely if they weren't around then you have the standard engine.
