'91 F-350 w/460 smoking at exh. manifold

Hi!
My bucket truck sits sometimes for a week or two without running. When I start it after sitting it smokes alot and it seems to come from the point where the exhaust manifold meets the exhaust pipe. Is this a manifold gasket or what? It seems to run well otherwise. Occasionally I'll get a check engine light (not while it's smoking) but it goes out quickly.

Thanks!

it is most likely an oil leak from the valve covers that runs down the head and maybe drips onto the manifold. there is nothing else there to smoke really.

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't sound like I should be too concerned then. I assume I should replace the valve cover gasket?
