What do I need to know to change my cyclinder head?

I'm replacing the cylinder head with a re manufactured unit on my '65 F100 with the 300 and I'm just wondering if it is as easy as it looks. Unbolt, clean, new gasket, reinstall? Is there a special way I need to reinstall the bolts to prevent the head from not sealing correctly? What is the proper torque for the head bolts? Thanks.

Buy a 65 and up ford truck manual by Chiltons for $15. That will give you the tighting sequence, and torque. You will need a torque wrench. You may bust the studs for the intake/exhaust. Dont lose the washers. They cost about $12 each.

I've been looking for a manual locally but I can't find one. You'd think in a city with over 700,000 it'd be easier to locate. But I'll keep looking.

I just went online searching and did not see it. They used to have a 65-86 f series repair manual.
They still offer a 75-86 and that will get your truck back together. An 80-96 haynes manual will also work.

Have the 3 volumn set of shop manuals for the 65 but was wondering whether the shop manual CD is worth the $25-$30, noticed there are couple different publishers. Any members purchased either and have an opinion.
