Ford 2011 Superduty Photos and News on the homepage

love the homepage....and the manual gear selector switch on the new superduty is awesome....best of both worlds manual when you want it and auto for all other times. I know that a superduty is in my future! Just hope that the 6.2 is worth it because I cant afford to maintain and I do not need the diesel. Wish they had the V10....maybe a resurrection?

Love the grille. freaking things are sick. by 2012 if not late 2011 i should be able to get one. hope the 6.2 is good to go though. But i think at this point ford knows they need to have everything working from the start. Im sorry but i love the grille it says move or get ran over. Just imagine some one in a little civic and they look in their rearview and see those to big chrome bars freaking awesome.

What I do not understand?
I thought that FORD was to have an engine that was 2010 compliant? Further, I read and believed that the 6.4 was NOT 2010 compliant. Fnally, my understanding was that a truck manufactured in 2010 had to be 2010 compliant.
The more I write, the more I confuse myself. Final question: WHEN WILL THE 2011 6.7 diesel Super Duty F-350 be ready for the market?
Thanks,

2010 does have to be compliant. Ford and everyone else gets around it by manufactoring right now before the beginning of the calendar year. They are allowed to put them together during 2010, just not manufactor. They are allowed to use up their supply.
I think then in the spring of 2010 the 2011's will be built.

I think the new Super Duty looks great and Ford seems really serious about returning to the front row of the truck industry but i still have my doubts on the Diesel engine. I believe after year one and two of existence we will have a better idea of what this new generation can deliver...
Long live the 7.3 Litre still the king!

Grill and headlights look horrid, Ford could have done better. Seems like the truck are getting uglier.
By looking at the specs and changes on the new 2011 it appears to me like Ford is designing the truck more for fuel mileage than towing performance. A taller OD than the 5R110 and 3.31 gears for the 6.7l, good thing it has a lot of torque. The new 6spd is obviously designed for the diesel, not the gassers.

Engines manufactured before 1/1/2010 can be used, and designated 2010 models while still being manufactured in 2009.
Past 1/1/2010, anything must be 2010 compliant. The earliest the EPA will allow a model year to be "certified" is March. You remember how the 2008 model year was allowed on the market in March, 2007. The 2011 will be the same way.

I think it's an overall better looking truck. I am a little concerned about the grill. It's going to be real big and ugly in XL form.
I also think it's a mistake to replace the V-10 with the 6.2L at this stage in the game for the 250/350. There are many V-10 purists that will be mighty dissappointed. Likewise, there is as much apprehension as excitement over the 6.7L.

It makes sense IF they can get diesel engines, but Ford and International parted company and International (Navistar) closed down the Indianapolis engine plant. Until the new diesel is ready for prime time, it doesn't leave Ford with a lot of options.
