First Time Noob post

Well,
I've been working away on the firewall of the truck cab when I get a phone call from a guy who lives about 5 minutes away from me. He says he has two truck cabs that he wants to get rid of. I go to his place and see them. They are both in great shape. When we get down to talking price... he just offers to give one of the cabs to me for free. I got a few friends to help me out with moving it. I can't believe it! Will post pics of the new cab when I get the cab home this weekend.

New Cab
Here it is. It's a 1976 Cab from an F250 rwd truck. It has some cancer in the floors and some surface rust around the doors that I think I can get out. This should be a lot easier than the other cab I was prepared to fabricate my way through.

Sorry guys. I have not posted pics for a while. I've almost got the floor done on the new cab. I'm a little ashamed of a few big blobby welds on the bottom. I'm not the most gifted welder.
I will take some pictures tomorrow morning. I can't wait to get the new cab into some good two stage primer. Then I have a few things to do with the drive train.
I like Grinner's green evil beast. I like the green color. I want green too! Well maybe ford blue... dang I could also go for a nice red truck too! I need more trucks.

Good job man. Congrats on using what you have available. I have been doing the same thing on my build. Old used floor pan (was in better condition than my old one), Parking brake cable mounts and rear upper shock brackets.
Keep up the good work.
If someone does not like your work, than they can come down and do it for you......

First off I'm born and raised from Courtenay B.C!!
Moved away in 2000 to live in Whistler for 3 years but now call Victoria home. I've always had a old ford truck since high school and we use to go 4x4ing all over that area from forbidden plateau to comox lake area.
Anyways my cab restoration was quite intense as I redid the floors with heavy gauge galvanized sheetmetal then instead if replacing cab corners with junk aftermarket stuff I made 3/16 plate ones.
And the other weekend out wheeling after I took off the doors

I think it needed some work!! Lol
Doing alot of hardcore wheeling still in east Sooke , shawnigan lake area my cab corners would crush and collapse with the suspension flex and bumps and jumps.

Yeah no issues ever again!!! I took it up some very nasty trails and rock crawls the other weekend. Here's a shot after I took off doors and installed my half ones.
Hardkasedaddy you mentioned something about manual brakes and steering??? Don't do it. I got lots of tips and info and how to do it right and where to find the key parts..
