Looking for a 6.0L Diesel Mechanic in San Jose area

Please help to suggest a mechanic in the San Jose, CA area that has a high level of integrity with reasonable pricing for repairs and service.

I'm not interested in working with any of the local dealers.

I did read through the post about Northern CA Repair shops, but found no suggestions for my area.

Please help.

What is it that you need done? There are several knowledgeable and handy 7.3 owners in your area.

Small coolant leak to start, then various other projects as my truck ages.
I'm sure a 7.3L mechanic could help me.

Just looking for a good mechanic that I can build trust with.

Livermore would be tough since I'm on a bike once I drop the truck off.
Thanks anyways.

Contact a user called Fat Diesel:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/member.php?u=286043

He lives in Morgan Hill and should be able to steer you in the right direction. He hasn't been here in the Chapter forum much lately or he probably would have responded to this already.

Yea chances are Andy (Fat Diesel) knows someone. he helped me out with my 7.3 reading codes.

I've had work done at El Gato automotive on white oaks off of camden and highway 17. he owns a 7.3 excursion so he's done a lot of work on ford diesels.

after re-reading that post it sounded a little confusing... Andy might know someone who is a good diesel mechanic, but he's not affiliated with el gato.

Although if you call el gato and talk to the owner, paul, tell him Josh with the white 7.3 referred you.

Also if the coolant leak is the only thing you want fixed right now I've worked with Oakridge radiator ever since i bought my first car and the owner mike has always been reasonable and honest with me. he's done work on my diesel too. its on winfield ave between blossom hill and coleman in south san jose

Dredging back an old thread - I'm also looking for a knowledgable 6.0 Diesel mechanic in the San Jose (or Santa Cruz or Salinas) area to help with diagnosing intermittent throttle tip-in hesitation and also some "bucking" experienced at specific RPM points while pulling in warm weather.

Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure how I missed this. I'm not a good source of info on the 6.0. And since I avoid having others work on my truck at all costs I don't really even know who's good to bring them to. Keep an eye out in this forum and next time I have a get together come on by. Some guys know a lot about a lot!

The only place I know of is downtown around 4th street near 101 but I can't remember the name or exactly where it is...

mvft ( mission valley ford trucks ) i have had great service there on all my work vans 7.3 then the new one was a 6.0.
and the best part is i know all the service staff and thay all work together to fix a problem.
not like most shops where thay give it to one guy and thats that there thay will all talk about a problem and come up with a collective solutions. but just my $0.02
