Just bought a '04 scab fx4, and i was wondering how i could tell if it was a 2 or 3 valve motor. I know the 3 valves had spark plug/head issues.. thanks guys

 

new body style 2004+ is 5.4 3v

old body style 2004 is a 5.4 2v


so is does your truck have bubble fenders (1997-2004) or the squared off edges on the fenders (2004+)?

 

thanks, i appreciate it. i just bought the truck, so im wondering what i can do to make the plug changes easier

 

follow the tsb to the letter make sure it the most resent one I still see the out dated tsb being passed around now then have the Lisle tool on stand by just in case. I changed mine early 30k & didn't brake any good luck.

 

its got 67k, ill change them at 70
