There are a number of Youtube video's that show people with bump trucks changing out their heater cores. What questions do you have about changing it?

Wondering if the inside housing can be removed from the box or does the complete setup needs to removed in one piece.

I have not done one on a truck with Air Conditioning, but here is some information that may help you. I'm not sure if you can purchase a new heater core for a unit that has AC? Have read that you need to take your old core to a radiator shop to have it re-cored?

Redid mine a few years ago you’ll have to take the whole unit out. You might be able to sort of do whatever you’re doing with it on the passenger floor if ac line slack allows. I replaced the expansion valve 25-8798 old air products. Careful with that 50 year old plastic. Find an old radiator shop to repair your core if needed. Deans radiator and driveshaft here in Lincoln NE might allow you to send your core in for repair.

read smoky diesel’s thread he went through his factory air.

Well for one that heater core supposedly isn't manufactured. I certainly haven't found one, but got super lucky at a swap meet last year and found a good one.

I just pulled my AC box out a week or two ago. The whole thing has got to come out. It's actually pretty easy.

stpackard good to know about Deans. I had planned to take my old one in for rebuilding over a lunch break once I get it out just to have a good spare.
