Then I fit the plate inside the frame and welded it top and bottom to the frame. Next, I filled the old box's hole in the frame's rail, and cut out a new one, to position the new box a little forward of the old box. This seemed like the simplest and easiest way for me to install power steering.

I also had to cut & sleeve both the drag link, from the box to the pittman arm, and the steering shaft. Both are visible in the photos. Lucky for me, the sector shaft in the box was indexed on 2 sides, 180 deg. out from each other.

Now, because the box mounts at a slight angle, and the suspension must move up and sown, the new draglink needs a small angle, where it meets the Pitman arm. I missed it by a little, so my truck turns sharper to the left than to the right... No biggie, and when my ball joints wear out, and I build a new drag link, then I will fix that issue...

Good luck amigo...

They make an adjustable drag link, Bronco Graveyard sells it. It's a little pricey, but, should work for what I need.

I may just get the machinist here to do the same thing with a stock drag link, though.

Just a few quickies, there will be more later this week. Finally got around to replacing the 2x4 tie rod on the front of the truck, this seems to work better! Also, coated and painted the new frame box section around the fuel tank, so it can go in for good.

Kripes, I love this build.. BTW, that is an old Jackie Gleason word, for expressing amazement. Nuke buddy, you are doing a "Bang Up" job... to quote Red Skelton. Somehow, I am in a 'Period' mood today, and thinking about the old comedians of the Bump period. Maybe 'cuz we watched "Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" the other night. Love your build, but I will miss that 2x4 tie rod.. Did you save it for Fred Flintstone?

Okay, things are taking shape. I had to make some holes for the inner fenders to bolt to the core support, 3 on each side. I decided to use U-clips to fasten the bolts, so also made insertion holes for those, using drill , and then shaping the hole with a die grinder. Inners bolted up perfectly. I will have to drill out one side, for the rear inner fender straps, that connect it to the body mounts.

Drivers side fender installed. I will have to do some adjusting, the front of the fender is low.

Yessir. I'll address that when I get the other fender on. I was a little disappointed with the AMK body kit, it so far was missing two of the small u-clips that go on the front of the fender. But, we have a local hardware store that carry tons of fasteners, and they had them, so, just picked up two and moved forward. Any more missing stuff, and I'll be giving AMK a call.

Fine job Nuke buddy, and compliments on the creative/inventive/adaptive thinking, that is in keeping with most of the bump owners on this forum. You are up there with the head of the class.
