Just Installed Dana 60 Front axle

Took me a few days but looks pretty good. Couldn't pass it up the axle came with add a leaf already installed including track bar.
Does anyone know if I should install a drop pitman arm due to the add a leaf.
Now I need to lift the rear so it sits level at least lol
Still need longer shocks too.
Stock 250 driveshaft bolted right up.

The drive shaft may fit, but you have the risk of breaking something if you bottom out since the F350 shaft is shorter.

You should be ok the way it is. Take a look at the track bar and drag link, If they're parallel to each other you can leave it alone. If the track bar is at a steeper angle than the drag link you'll have to change the arm so they are parallel otherwise you could get some bump steer.

Why is the 350 shaft shorter? I was unaware of this.

The D60 ring gear is bigger and the pinion shaft is a tad longer. Both make the distance from the axle center line to the U-joint center line longer.

If you swap to the double carden F350 drive shaft, you will also need a different front yoke off the transfer case. They are VERY hard to find.
Caryt over on TDS is having some made if anyone needs one.

I am getting ready to do a d60 swap myself, as you know. Could you PM me a link to the yoke or to the info on it?

good stuff.. any pics? what year o rear did you swap in?
you could swap out your rear blocks for f350 ones. they are a tad taller. also look at your spring bushings. seen as much as 1" of "lift" after replacement.

He's talking about the swap he did for his FRONT axle.

No worries though... I get caught not reading stuff quite right the first time all the time...

yes thats what i meant. i get caught calling the FRONT diff a "rear" all the time.

correction: what year d 60 did you swap in?
you can add f350 blocks to the REAR. they are thicker and will probably get you where you want in height.

sorry for the confusion

94 F250 DANA 60 MOD

Just added photos so hopefully it works lol. Everything was bolt on the only thing I needed help with was getting the new axle under the truck using floor jacks and plywood.
Since I did it right there in the yard with no driveway. Pulled the old axle out with a chain n a truck one side gently at a time.
The Leaf springs bolt right up to the factory ones on the 250 and the driveshaft did to. I'm only running 265/76 R16 so don't think it will be a problem.

Thanks for the compliment.

The steering arm looks to be a bit steeper angle than the track bar to me. I took a pic of it so you might be able to tell if it looks good or not hopefully.

94 F250 DANA 60 MOD pics in photo albums on this site. Just added them today.

The axle I was told was out of a 96 or 97. When I changed calipers I asked for 97 F350 and they matched what came with the Dana 60 so it could be a 97.
I'd have to find a good junk yard to have a F350 most are 150s around here but I'll keep looking.
You're talking about the shackle flip in the rear they sell kits for.
