I suggest everyone within their 3/36 go inspect every nook and cranny for paint damage.

Is this your blog? Man, this problem is similar to Tylus's.

Mine is ok-knock, knock. I have a small spot on the rear passenger door that looks like a small piece of dirt had gotten under it when it was painted. I debated whether to have then repaint it in fear the repaint job would be worse. I also have a small spot-pen tip-chip on the roof that has some bubbling next to it. I am taking this in next time I get it serviced, but before the 3/36 is up. I could probably fix it myself, as it's in the roof channel and some rust inhibitor and touch up paint wouldn't show much their, but I will see what they say.

I hear you. I had Ford buy back my 07 for a brake problem. My 08 has had it's share of problems-bad engine head-bad fan clutch, Tranny reflashes needed, etc. All of them have been taken care of by the dealer.

Have you gotten a response from BBB in regards to their shoddy repaint job?

Oh yea the BBB ruled in my favor they have to buy it back...even tho i bought it in pa. and now i live in fl. they should of never in a million years had to buy that back(state lemon laws dont carry from one state to the other) the paint was so bad tho the arbitrator ruled in my favor anyway, it wasnt easy by any means alot of hoops to jump thru....ford should be ashamed of themselves. check it out www.floridafordbuyersbeware.com. go to the blog section if you have time the most recent entry is first........seriuosly it will blow your mind

Does the law mention your mileage responsibility? I had to pay .28 per mile I added to the truck before I reported the problem to Ford. Cost me $500, well worth it.

no, nothing like that came up but i did reference with paperwork the day i picked it up at the original dealership they had to take it back to touch up some chips on the inside rear dr door,,,,,,,that was on day 2 of ownership....i kept referencing that particular day throughout this whole fanangled mess.ie;my paint problems started when the vehicle was brand new..............maybe that helped....i honestly never heard of that paying per mile thing.....seems wierd if you had the 3yr 36000mile warranty....but then again i wouldnt be suprised at any of their tatics............chuck

Yeah, they want you to pay for the cars useage before the problem started. In your case it doesn't apply, it happened on day 1, for me it happened at 1,800 miles. They figure I drove the car 1800 trouble free miles and put wear and tear on it for that amount of time. It makes sense. What didn't make sense was Ford orginally said I had to pay the usage for the mileage it had when the BBB case finally got started, 20,000 miles. I laughed and said read your lemon law manual, page 18 line 6. They changed their tune then. Rat *******s.

whoa i think i mis lead you..i didnt get full price iwas confused..but yeah yeah, BBB took the miles on the vehicle at the time of the first hearing ..did some mathmatical s,hit and came up with a price that was like 6500 less than i paid for it....sorry i mis understood you.....but still i couldnt of leased the vehicle for the last 2 years for that price(including down payment) and we DID use it for a couple of vacations so.......as far as the paint on the day i picked it up i used that service order to prove it had paint problems from day one.....now money wise no, they didnt pay me for a vehicle with only 2 miles on it(the first time i noticed the paint) but maaaaan that would of been sweet lol.....chuck

I thought the mileage amount will vary. When I turned my car in as a lemon a long time ago. They took the purchase price and divided it by 120,000 miles. That was your cost per mile. Then you had to pay the mileage up to the first repair for the issue you are claiming is the problem. What was left is what the MFG had to pay you/bank back.

Yes, that is right. In my case it worked out to be about $0.29 per mile or so.

Well the dealer repaired the truck. They removed the hood and lift gate and stripped them down to bare metal. The matched the paint perfectly. So far so good, I guess we'll see what happens.
