satan built my water pump

20 minutes from the first drip to the bearing letting go and chewing up the belt. Could not remove fan clutch so pulled rad and took out the whole assembly. Cut off the housing since it still would not budge, still no movement. 3 250 pound men, a vise and a 8ft cheater before we got the thing off. That's at least 1500lbs torque (I had to stand on the vice after it ripped loose from its welds) Broke the shaft in half, then ground more flats on what remained and had at it again. I hope they will take a core that's been eviscerated. Then we had to use the big impact wrench to take the pulley off, the small one (350 ft. lbs) wouldn't budge the bolts. I ain't pay no 200 bucks for a new fan clutch. Thank God for good neighbors. Dang, I need a beer.

Never heard of one being that stubborn. You seem to have an exception. I'm sure you're going to put a little anti-seize on the threads upon reassembly.

darn right I am. I was looking for the red locktight after we got it off, but there was none.
