I don’t know, …………the only thing that comes to mind (weak as it is) is did the new seal have the rubber boot on it, or double lip, the most expensive you could buy, nicks on yoke, wear on output rear bushing (grasping here) ?

The usual culprits here are a worn tailshaft housing bushing and/or a worn slip yoke.

Hopefully not but sometimes there are worn hardparts inside that can make a tailshaft wobble and putting a bushing in the tailhousing is just a temporary fix. I ran into that on my mustang and wound up just getting another trans. it all depends on how much play you have on the tailshaft. its normal for it to move just a little but more than a little say a sixteenth of an inch and you will probably need a costly rebuild or another tranny.
