460 differences

As I understand it when Ford went to the Fuel Injected 460 they changed the intake and the heads. I have a question on this,

Did they change the exhaust manifold mounting as well?

Here is my idea. I allready have a FI 460. If possible I want to put early style heads on my motor with a new intake. I allready have a set of headers on my motor so would prefer not to have to purchase a new set.

As far as the fuel injection goes I can have the intake modified to install the injectors and I allready have plans drawn up for the throttle body mounting. The biggest unknown right now is the heads. Will the old style heads mount to the new style block?

mcdonaldm is starting off with a positive reputation.
the blocks are the same so yes the older heads will bolt to the newer block. you may want to check piston to valve clearance just to make sure that no problems there.

not sure on the headers, guess the only way to make sure is bolt them up to the older heads and check for any mis alignment.
