Hello So.Cal.
Me and the family are planning a vacation and are considering San Diego in December.
Is this a good time of year to come out or not?
Any advise/help will be much appreciated.

December is a great time to come out. Nice mild temperatures.

 

Coming from WI, I think you'll like S.D. in December just fine. The weather is nice year round really. You might not want to lay on the beach in December, but it's usually nice enough to at least walk on the sand. And all the popular attractions are available year round.

San Diego is a really beautiful place. December should be nice.
Check out the Zoo, USS Midway, Balboa park, La Jolla cove, go to Coronado hotel and sit in the outside bar and have a martini by the beach as the Navy pilots wave to you as they land, and enjoy the really great Mexican food (especially the fish Taco's)
A Cruise of the bay at night to see the lights is well worth it too, and it has a great stadium for catching a ball game, but being December you might struggle there .

I personally wouldn't bother with Sea World unless you have kids that are younger.

We plan on checking out the Zoo, Sea World (kids are 11,5,2) and many other sites. We'll be there for 10 days, so plenty of time to see a lot.
