check the frame where the rear spring hangers are riveted on as here they seem to all have issues with rotting in those spots . also if someone has hacked any of the oe xmembers out to put a " better " driveline in it in true redneck fashion the frame will twist and flex and crack like my cuz's 53 and he's had to do a lot of work and boxing to correct the previous owners jury rigged work . 1500 does seem high . found a 56 1/2 ton here a bit ago set up for a 429 and c-6 , frame done and painted red , body in peices , less rust than what you show , and enough spare parts to build two more i think ,and an extra cab for 800 as he was tired of playing with it !!!!! i paid 2700 for my 53 with a running flatty in it , so ... all depends on what ya want ..........
