Help! E40D Driving me crazy!
Awhile back my 94 Lightning (Truck is completely stock)started shifting real hard.It then just quit moving.Computer was putting out a code 625(EPC driver open in PCM)of course the transmission was not caught soon enough so it was gone.Computer was rebuilt, wires tested, new Jasper transmission, new MLP sensor (required for warranty on trans.)I`ve got maybe 350 miles on the new transmission and it started shifting hard again, plus the same 625 code.My guess is the computer is fried again.Could there be something shorting out?Could the overdrive cancel switch have anything to do with this?I`ve got about $2100 stuck in it so far and I would hate to have any more big expenses. Any help is very much appreciated.

I don't have an answer for you but will be interested to see what others have to say. My E4OD does a hard shift every once in a while. Seems to happen most often when I just get off the highway and switch from OD to non.
What's different about the Lightning vs standard truck?

The lightning was Ford's answer to the Chevy 454SS. It was created in 1993, and ford stopped it in 1995. It was a Regular Cab, short-bed 2wd pickup, that had a built 351. It had painted grill, bumpers, dual-tube rear bumper, 17-inch wheels(?), custom seats, etc. It also had a 120mph speedometer.
