Anyone like big trucks

Joe, that's my problem. My wife knows I am good at buying and selling stuff, making profit, etc, she just doesn't want to admit I am right or good at something except for spending money.

Dang, I love those 38-40's and bonus built COE's whats that custom grill guard say? "MPG"??
that one looks to be in great shape! I would love to extend the Cab on one to make it a family hauler.... or cruiser.
Any idea on how tall one of those 38-40 COE stands? my garage door is 8' tall so without measuring one I wonder if it will fit?
Josh
btw that bottom one looks like its in Havi's neighborhood, made me think of the two trucks he had in his avatar, grass just not as green.

Ouch. She wouldn't of gotten along with our family then. Growing up, we had 23 60-66 Falcon/Comet/Fairlane type cars, from coupes to wagons. We also had 17 52-56 F-Series trucks, including panels, and parts rigs, ranging from F-100 thru F-350. We had all of it together on one 5 acre property. Sold a very straight 56 panel for $1500, cost the family less than $20 for the DMV abandoned vehicle permit, plus fuel. Had a guy from Australia buy an original windshield for a 63ish wagon, because it was mint, and had the factory tint. It was a way of life, and it provided a rather comfortable life style, concidering dads Army disabled retired payment was under $800 a month, and we were a family of 5.

Yeah, you could say that I like big trucks, small trucks too, especially if there "blue oval"!
My Dad drove semi's for almost 40 years, started back in the early 50's and I myself drove for over 30 years, recently "retired" from the industry as it's gotten way to hard to make a decent living at it anymore.....most of the companys out there want you to work 24/7 and don't want to pay you for your "experience".......they just want "meat in the seat"...pretty sad, as in the "early" day's, truck drivers were treated with the respect that they earned and deserved!!!......so now for me, it's going to be just a fun hobby.

The 1938 Ford V8 Trucks and Commercial Cars Sales Manual and Reference Book says that a COE sits 88.26" tall. Interestingly it doesn't say whether that's with 7.50 x 20s or 8.25 x 20s. Either way she's too tall for a 7' door but will slide under your 8' door just fine. Stu

If that truck is as clean as it looks and no major rust problems I'm sure its close?? but to be completely honest I have not been looking into COE prices or values very much so I could be way off?
I saw a I think 48 COE in Vegas for a lot less but not so complete.
last year I saw a 51 COE with Wrecker body somewhat local to me advetised for $1700 I think, it sold within two weeks. I should have picked it up but did not have any extra cash at the time.
