It's $.02 cheaper than reg unleaded at the local Flying J right now but that's the only place here. Most others have diesel $.10 higher than reg. unleaded but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Ours is at least a nickle and I've seen up to 20 cents less -- hope it lasts. Boy it'd suck to be a diesel guy at heart and have bought a V10 last year because of the big difference the other way last summer...
Lest they forget this is one big reason for the recession.
I think people are under the mistaken believe that the current rise in energy prices was strictly due to the commodity traders trying to find another bubble to invest in, but there is an economic core that was underlying the whole buy buy buy mentality of oil and I think the vast population of people have forgotten, if they knew at all.
After it spiked last year and was about $0.50 more than regular it dropped hard and has been about $0.20 less since then
Regional differences. During it's spke last year, here it was .40 more then premium and made it about .60-.65 more then regularly and here it's between mid-grade and premium, so y'alll really have it good now and I would enjoy while you can.
I got mine for $1.97 in Ludow ky. today. Unleaded reg is at about $2.25 a gallon. To beat all I have been checking my milageage latley and I am getting about 18 mpg! This really beats the 14 mpg my 302 was getting.
If you look at the commodities market - the price spread is around 40 cents with the diesel being cheaper.
Market price only goes so far though. You have to deal with spot prices as well and they can be higher or lower then market price depending on the commodity. This of course is where you start running into people trying to arbitrage and why in some regions the little people get screwed.
