I raced at QUAKER CITY for many years. My shop (1 of 3) was near therein Columbiana. I love that track.....only track for me!!!
Grach Brothers was my competitor and buddy.
Reminds me of the good ole days.......I will be in Hubbard and then maybe will try to squeeze it in.......I raced a 68 Charger, and 69 6PAC ROADRUNNER,and a 70 EL CAMINO,and a bunch of 6pac cars......Haulin Hemi.....Carlin Hines and Bill Pacula are my buddies. They were great engine builders and racers.
GOOD LUCK FREIGHTRAIN.......summer is here.........awesome!!!

Hmmm, I HATE QC because of that freak'n HILL. Man, it really suxs with a stick car. We have two racers there this year, one later in Aug? It's a pretty good show, we usually have 50+ stick cars and it's worth the price of admission.

They have updated the place some with a modern tower and new grandstands, as you probably remember the old center tower and grandstands about 1/2 track. It was horrible to watch at, but now it's good for that.

Well, it's all in the books now. The good news is I took home ALL the marbles!!! It was a very long, hot, sunny day(Ya, I'm beet red) but after 6 grueling rounds of eliminations I stood on top. If was a tough fight, but I had my game face on and did my job. It's nice to win the first one, now just hopefully I can keep the momentum and carry it through the season. We do run a points system, so I'm #1 right now. Love to come back again with another championship, but I'm not going to count my chickens, yet. 7 more races to go.
