Not 100% sure but I think the Chevelle and el camino were coil suspension.I'll stand corrected if need be

i believe they did have coils, but they also have the same bends that safef3's frame has, the leafs could have been added. but who knows, it could be a mixture of 2 frames and some extra steel. i googled different frames for like an hour, but didnt have much luck. the funny thing is... it looks real familiar lol.

I believe that was the failed Ford twin I-beam rear suspension prototype.

ok, now what should I do. Should I take this somewhere to see if the frame can be worked to fit a f1 bed on it, or should I just seek out a different frame...The truck rides and drives good, but I really want a bed for the restoration.....thanks for info guys

i was looking at someones profile today, and they have a frame for sale. i cant remember who it was tho. i'm sure if you started another thread he would speak up.
or you could always raise your bed floor, part of that nice ride is that huge c notched frame giving your axle plenty of room to travel.
unless your doing a more traditional resto, i'd definitely find a frame.
but you never know, you may not have to do much to get a stock bed to fit, maybe you should find a bed before you start hacking on the frame.
