F350 Dually Short Bed?

I was thinking about a diesel and maybe a dually, when I came across a 2000 f350 dually short bed v10 4wd lariat. Really a pretty truck in nice condition, but i really was not looking for this combo....but I like it!

I just thought I had better do some research, so I asking for your expert opinions....

It is a crew cab, but with the short bed will it ride like a buckboard? Thanks

The CCSB is 156" WB, about 15" shorter than the longest Ford CCLB 173". But it's 14" longer than the SCSB, and I wouldn't say those ride like a buckboard when loaded with a 6K gooseneck. I've driven all the Ford SuperDuty pickup cab/bed configurations (all in the family, one way or the other) and while I do like the ride of the longer trucks, but I don't have any complaints from the shorter ones.

The Dodge "quad cab" long beds of that era (2003-2010) are only 160".

A couple of things to consider on those dually short beds, though:
1. Shortbed fuel tank in those is only 26G
2. The dually fenders are stamped as a part of the bed, not the fiber glass glue on. Sweeter look, in my opinion, but if you ding one up you're out a larger body shop bill.

More specs here.

Good luck,

Ord

Mine is an 08 and rides excellent. But that's more likely because that was the start of softening up on the rear springs for ride quality. It's definitely an odd ball configuration but I like it. I've also noticed a lot of them driving around my area so I'm not the only one.

My fenders are the fiberglass glue on ones so not sure what you're talking about. The main issues is the fuel door is in the dually fender.
