Ford Raptor Pricing with 6.2 - $3000 more!

Holy crap! I was looking at this write-up on the Raptor F-150 and looking at the pricing, the 6.2 truck is priced $3000 higher than the 5.4. Kind of makes me wonder what they'll charge for it in the SD. It doesn't appear to be the bargain that the V10 is.

That's because it's not the lame duck the V10's are in terms of performance. This engine has a lot more going for it and should command a higher price tag.

Lame duck? 462ft/lbs of torque out of 6.8L (67.9 ft/lbs per liter) while the 6.2L is 400ft/lbs (64.5 ft/lbs per liter)?

Lame duck... that's a good one

Of course, you can't FIT a V10 in an F150, so...

Thanks for the ricer math. Except none of that changes the fact the V10's have split pin cranks, balance shafts, are not even in the ballpark of capability the 6.2 Boss has going for it. The V10 is a decent gasser work mule but the 6.2L can cover that and be a vastly better performer if an owner wants to put the screws to it. The V10 is a lame duck because it was all but abandoned by the aftermarket. $3,000 maybe seem a little steep but it is buying a more capable engine. Ford obviously seems to think so.

Could make one fit. But shoehorning a turd is about as fulfilling as polishing one I'm sure....

No way the 6.2 comes out with 400 ft lbs.....if thats all they make whats the point??? the 5.4 this year is 390........

And...you can't replace a 460 ft/lb with a 400.....I'd bet it comes out at at least 400/475

Here's the thing. All I've (or anyone else) has heard about the Raptor 6.2L is 400HP, 400ft/lbs of torque.

And who says they are replacing the V10 with the 6.2? The V10 is only used in the Superduty, and motorhome chassis.

Replace the BASE engine in the Superduty, the 5.4, sure, but who knows what's going on. No one has ever posted even a RUMOR that the V10 is discontinued at any point.

Not that I've read, anyway.

According to that article, it's "expected" to replace the 6.8

I've never seen actual Ford literature to that effect.

If the 6.2 will replace the V10, I'm glad I bought my 09 "lame duck" engine, because 400 ft lb won't cut it in my application. Any news on the 7 liter boss?
