i just changed out a non tach factory instrument cluster for one that has a factory tach. What i'm running into is the tach won't work. the other gauges all work fine. I need help! I don't know what wires to look for or where to look.

 

Did your original instrument cluster have gauges? Is your ignition system all original?

 

Did the tach work in the donor truck? I have snagged a few from the junkyard over the years and one of them was dead. If it's turns out to be dead, do a search in this forum, I think there were a few posts on repairing it or you could just get another. If you have factory gauges the tach cluster swap is a plug and play deal.

 

Thanks for the reply! I was told it was working. Before I remove it I would like to check and make sure everything is wired properly. I need to know what wire goes where under the hood.
