Popping under load ?

87 F250 I have replaced the carb, rotor, wires, plugs, cap, oil, new fuel.but when you accellerate up to speed the motor makes a poping sound could this mean that the catalitic converters are clogged there are two and two mufflers. Any advice would be appreciated greatly Thanks

cat converters are a possibilty like you mentioned but first id check the timing and double check to make sure the plug wires are in the correct order as you mentioned you had just changed them
