Body Dmg (Going to Adjuster)

Hey im new to forums but i got a 1994 150 a few weeks ago and then Sunday i get hit in a parking lot. Im going to the insurence body shop tomorrow to get something i dont know. The other guys insurence said it wasnt my fault and that they would authories the guy at this body shop to write a check. I dont know how it goes down or what kinda figures it cost for body work. My mom thinks i should try to get them to paint the whole truck since the paint is all spray paint atm. But not sure if they do that.

So the adjuster is going to send me a check for $1380. Im very happy with that, but its going to have to go to fixing my fuel promblem.

Seems i have a common problem with my fuel tanks. Both tanks worked a few days ago but i ran them rly low (both on E). I stoped to refuel and filled the front tank and pull 1 gallon in the back tank. It started and i drove the 6 blocks home.

The next day after haveing a radio installed it would not start. The motor just keeps turning over. I spray carb clean in the intake and it runs off of that till its gone.

My friends who installed the radio say that they cant hear the fuel pumps turn on. The checked all the fuses they could find and said that the were all good. No mechanical xp myself, so i will take it to a shop that specializes in ford on tuesday.

Have read a few post about it on here but, i dont know how to pull codes or how to do much else. So any sugestion are welcome.

" after having a radio istalled it would not start" ---sounds like somebody screwed up !!
neither pump runs?? Seems like the radio guy may have screwed with a power wire somewhere---
Just my 2Cents---I always try to blame someone else--it can't be MY trucks fault.

Could the guy have messed with the fuel cut-off??

Gary

it could never hurt to have it double check things just to be on the safe side... Personally I dont see how a radio installation could affect the fuel pumps but I'm no mech and not even a shade tree wannabe either. lol

The truck runs again!
So after every one saying that the radio prolly caused the problem i retraced the steps we did to fix the radio. After the radio was installed, the speakers still didnt sound. So we set out to find out where the short was. We took off a panel between the passenger door and the firewall and looked at the wires there but didnt see anything.

There was the problem, some how one of use hit the (emergency shut off for the fuel pumps)? or what ever its called. I saw some one say to check it on a diff fuel thread but i didnt know where mine was. I pushed the red button all the way in and it started.

Thx to all the comments that led to this being fixed.

Inertia switch. In the event of a collision or rollover, that switch triggers and kills the engine.

Glad you found it. It's one of the very first things to check in a no fuel situation.
