I am experiencing an intermitted stalling on my 2006 F-250 6.0L Diesel. While running, it will stall without warning. So far it has always re-started. I know older models had a problem with the camshaft position sensor but I have not heard this was a problem for 2006 models. I took it to the Ford dealer who could find nothing. Anyone had the same problem and have suggestions?

 

I had a stall on deceleration on my 05. After many trips, no CEL, no codes, after a few other parts, they eventually replaced the EGR. Seems one that is a slight bit dirty can hang up and cause the stall. The only symptom I may have had was a bit of black smoke on heavy take-off, which for me was normal.
That is the last thing the mechanic did ( EGR replacement ) and it has not acted up since.

 

Of course, now I have custom tuning.

 

Thanks for your response. I too have noticed some black smoke on hard take offs. I will give you suggestion a shot and let you know how it does.
