You're right, Kevin, they are always a zillion miles away. But, that's because that's where they were needed. Last week I tracked down another F-3 M-H, but it turned out to have been in Alaska. The guy had sold it and didn't know where it had ended up.

And then there was the '56 F-100 M-H that was on eBay last week. It wasn't on there long. The guy pulled the listing because it was sold off-line. I hope I can learn where it ended up. Stu

Don't have a title but might get a storage title, the front axle was made by coleman but think it might have M-H transfer case?? any info?? by the way, at this point both trucks are for sale cuz i don't have time or money to do it correctly. Thanks KODA

I just learned that there is a "photo album" option. I never knew it. I was looking for it in your gallery. Your truck is a sad old soldier, but very honest. As for the Coleman F-600, I really doubt it would have a M-H transfer case. The Colemans were a conversion onto themselves. M-Hs are a challenge to find parts for, but Coleman's are even more difficult to my understanding. Here's your truck.

The number you list is the Marmon-Herrington Chassis Number, but it should read LD7-4 rather than LO7-4. The LD7-4 is the M-H model designation for half tons. The last five digits are from the Ford VIN. That number will be on the glove box door plate, and on the right front frame rail, preceded by what I'm gonna guess is F1R2HM. So your VIN would probably be F1R2HM29041. The F1 is obviously the half ton model, R is V8, 2 is 1952, and HM is Highland Park, MI, which is where most (but not all) the M-Hs originated from. If the HM is not correct for yours it says a different plant produced the truck. I've also seen them from Chicago and Louisville. If you can confirm, or correct, what I've guessed that will give Mark what he'd want for the record he keeps on them.

I wish ya luck, too. It's a buyer's market out there right now, but according to the "experts" on TV, the collector car market hasn't softened as much as other markets. I'm looking for an M&H myself, but CO is too far away, sorry. Again, good luck!

I probably shouldn't get back into the Barrett-Jackson discussion, but from this week's Florida auction it sure looked like prices are down. Not that that's gonna impact KODA's truck, but it sure looked like a lot of the cars/trucks were being sold for the cost of their paint and chrome.

Heck, Scott, you're the one guy that could really use a M-H with your weather. Stu

My thoughts exactly. Looking for something with style to replace the '79 Bronco plow.

Honest to goodness, Scott, it's probably a day there and day back. No problem, man.

KODA, I'd love to be your buyer but I've got one down to the frame, a second one waiting, a third one in storage, and a Power Wagon that needs to be finished. Too many projects.

The F-600 is a 55 or earlier. The angled door posts rule out '56. I'd have to see the grille to say 53, 54, or 55.

Stu, I'm in the same boat. Looking to sell my Fairlane and Meteor to please the wife. (My lord, did I just say that???) Push the '78 F150, KB2's, and misc. parts deep into the back 40, sell the '85, sell the SC2, fix up her Blazer, drive my Jeep, and park the Bronco out of sight til the next winter season. As long as the Tbird and '48 don't come out of the garage, they can stay there. Meanwhile she wants to add onto the house already, tear down the trailer house, bulldoze over my garage, and if that's not enough....everyday I hear how she wants to move South. So that said, I don't think a 2 day's ride would go over well. Sorry for the rant.

Looks like a '53 F600 to me. Starting at $5000, isn't too bad. If nobody offers to buy, lower the price and try again. Better to start high than to start low.
