when will us men learn... we dont need wifes... just a big piece of property with a 20 car garage, a car trailer, and a motor home(use the motor home as a motel while towing the car trailer around to pick up cars and trucks to fill the garage... but also for living in lol) i just cant wait for the day i get married though... maybe i will be able to talk her into having the same enthusiasm i have for classic chevy muscle cars, and classic ford pick-em-up trucks... and she will let me keep as many as i want... (i dont think that will be a problem though... just have to say grandpa had one just like it when i was a young boy... my girlfriend went from hating my truck to understanding why i love it with that one comment try it with your wifes lol)

anyways thats a very sweet truck... but way to expencive for me and my ideas of a 4wd crew cab integral cab...

I hear you!!! Most women are understanding about the male need for old trucks-for the first half dozen trucks that you drag home or so. But it seems to wear them down and they go from understanding to not understanding in a short period of time-it seems.

And the neighbors can be an issue also. For some reason--neighbors have little understanding or tolerance for vintage trucks in the driveway.Something about the truck's appearance running down the neighborhood. Too bad there cant be neighborhoods set up just for the car/truck collectors. They would be like junk yards with mailboxes!!

Tell that to the city code people. They have no sense of rare vintage collectibles.

Another take on this line is...

One man's junk is another man's poison!

What's wrong with post 1975 rigs?

Can you actually tell a 1975 from a 1976 or 1977 by lookin' at it?

The sheet metal is identical 1973/79, the grille frame is the same 1973/77, some 1976's have clear parklamps, some have amber, as do all 1977's.

1976's and 1977's have different grille inserts, but a memory expert usually has trouble tellin' one from t'other.

Now...if you had typed post 1979 rigs...I might have agreed with you.

Billy: A Motor Home can be useful for drivin' around while lookin' for NOS obsolete and used parts, antiques in general...but there's one problemo....

Try loading a hood in a Motor Home, especially if it's off a 1961/66 F100/1100...or worse yet, a 1960 Ford Galaxie.

LMAO...I was referring to cars...as far as Ford trucks...definately...79 is the last year I would/will consider having as a steady stablemate...Now GM trucks...LOL...72 was the last decent year...their 73 up trucks were like Fiats...rusted as soon as it was born...LOL...oh yeah...they had that gas tank issue...Dodge...LOL...the jury is still out I think on their trucks

But as far as trucks and Fords...79 is the last year of a full size truck I would consider...

Fiat = Fix it again Tony!

The only car worse IMO than a Fiat was the horrible East German made Wartburg that was imported into the US in 1955/56.

The ignition switch bezel of this POS had this printed on it: FAHRT (!)

The main problemo was...it usually would not.

As bad as the Yugo (a rebadged Fiat 124) was...the Wartburg was faaar worse.

Mix eye-tie cars with eye-tie mechanics...whattya get? The same problemos you get with frog cars & frog mechanics.

You know the difference between heaven and hell, doncha?

Heaven: The Brits are the police, the French are the chefs, the Italians are the lovers, the Germans are the mechanics, the whole thing is run by the Swiss.

Hell: The Brits are the chefs, the French are the mechanics, the Germans are the police, the Swiss are the lovers, the whole thing is run by the Italians.

I see the trucks on ebay getting higher and higher and some are not worth the asking price but sounds like you got a nice one. Unibody trucks had a poor design and were prone to rust. A solid one is a real good buy.
