found massive oil leak! help!!

1988 2.9 oil everywhere yesterday! i cleaned it all up and started her up and got underneath and found oil dripping from what looks like a sensor with one wire hooked up to it, a little bigger than a sparkplug, but i can figure out a way to unscrew it from the blocK none of my sockets will work on it? cant use vise grips either!! and i still dont know why its leaking, other than its got 328,000 miles on it! is it the oil light sensor? how can i remove it? any help would be app!!

They make a special socket you can get at almost any local autoparts store. It's a oil pressure sending unit socket and they generally cost $5 or less.
