84' f250..

Hi, just bought an 84' F250 I was just curious did Ford offer a dual rear wheel setup or is this aftermarket? Traded a 98' Mercury Sable and a 95' Chevy Tahoe for it what do you guys think? Everything works has a few crappy patch spots on the body and a new front clip but other than that it's solid. Odometer reads 69,XXX sure that's at least 169,XXX or 269,000.

Pretty sure ford has never done a dually f250. It looks to have a 92-96 front clip and dually bed. Could also have a drw axle swapped in or a conversion kit on the stock axle. What does the vin say the truck should have. Looks like a mix and match to me.

kinda looks like a 80-86 dually f350 with a 92-96 front clip and bed. What is the vin?

Nice truck!

Other than the newer clip, The steps, The seats, it looks identical to mine.

When my wife saw your pic's she thought It was mine.

I put a vinyl bench in because of our dogs.

-Enjoy

It could be a 350 with as mentioned, a newer 250 clip and box. Definitely not an 84 clip and box..

By VIN it's definatley an F250(x25= F250 ex cab,) so, it's either aftermarket, or later stock stuff swapped in.

This is insane, Ford DID and STILL DOES make an F250 DRW!

I agree there has been some body part swapping on his truck, Front Clip and Bed!

But that does not negate the FACT that Ford did and still does make a F250 Dually.

BTW It is amazing at how close his VIN is to mine, The differences are:
  1. X25 vs X26
  2. E vs G
  3. And build number

-Enjoy

Thanks! That's really cool. I'm thinking of changing it to F350 badges what do you guys think of doing that? I figure since it would be cool since it's already pretty... johnny cash'd so far.

I would change to the newer F350 badges, a buddy of mine with a 94 (looks real similar to your truck) and put badges from an 07 F350 and they look real good.

I bet that truck was wrecked cuz that is also a bed from a 92-97

Ford has never built a F250 dually, and still doesn't, and they most definitley didn't build an 86 F250 ex cab 4x4 dually. Only F350's are built with high enough GVWR and GAWR ratings to justify a dual rear wheel setup. All dually F250's are non factory built. I believe Centurion may have done some conversions that were sold through dealers(been a while since I read stuff on them tho) but they were not factory built.

As for F350 badges, not a bad idea at all. Heck, my truck that has evolved into a F350 is badged as an F100 Custom... LOL
