Has anyone used Corroless from Eastwood?
I did a search on this board and found a short discussion on it , but was wondering if anyone else has used it. I just received an Eastwood catalog and came across it, and it is just what I am looking for. Has anyone used it, and with what kind of results? My plan is to use it on the frame of my truck.

I just did my floor boards with Por15 and looked at the Corroless product just now. The Por15 worked well and has a great rep. Eastwood is well known for excellent products, the two products probably works the same, I did noticed that the Eastwood product doesn't react to UV rays.
I did call to order their frame paint one time, but with the hazzard chem shipping charges and the 2+ weeks to ship (because they were moving) I passed and got the Por15.
I'd get 2 quarts of the brush on type and I also got the metal prep spray. See if they offer a complete kit or find out exactly which cleaner they want you to use.
I used a wire brush and removed most all the visable rust then cleaned and use Por15 Metal prep stuff. It seemed to work exactly like navel jelly and even left the same coating. Some of these product want you to use only their cleaner.
By the way, Por15 was about the same price but you'll save if you need the UV protection by buying the Eastwood stuff.

LAST EDITED ON 29-Mar-01 AT 09:10 AM (EST)[p]I just did our frame with the POR15 and it works great. Also, POR now has a product called Black Coat that is NOT UV sensitive that paints right over the POR15 without having to prime or sand. We're going to use this on the floor of the bed of our '41 truck and on the running boards. It's supposed to be alot tougher than base/clear.
We also used POR's Metal Ready on the frame. Before we got the Metal Ready, I used the OSFO on the fenders. Like the Metal Ready better than OSFO. They work the same, but the Metal Ready only has to sit for 20 min's before you can prime/paint.
We found these POR folks at one of the classic car shows here in Fla. and they're real helpful. If you want to check it out, look for a show near you. They had everything we wanted for our project right at the show. (Saves alot on shipping if you can find them at a show.)

Almost forgot - John (fatforty) thanks for the help.

Brent.
I used the Corroless on the inside of the cab corners and the doors of my '56. It works as good as they say it will. I am very happy with the results. It has been several years since I put it on, and the it has stopped the formation of any more rust in the treated areas.
Good luck.
