2008 Mark LT

My owners manual says change the oil every 7500 miles, I drive about 500 miles a month. The truck is now 4 months old and 3000 miles a little more than my average after a weekend trip out of town.

Lincoln offers free maintance for the first year, As it stands now I will not make the 7500 miles by the end of the first year.

Should I change the oil before now at 3000 miles or wait until the truck is 6 months old and change it twice a year regardless of mileage.

 

on new truck i change filter after 1hr. drive time
oil&filter at 1,000mi.
again at 2,000mi.
again at 3,000mi.
then each 5,000mi.
if it sit change every 90 days

Every 6 months or 7500 miles.I did my first one at 2500.If your towing,abusing,alot of city driving change it more often.

 

I do all my vehicles 3000 mi. no matter what. Been doing that for 30+ years, never once any problem at all whatsoever. All motors I ever had ran perfectly for many miles, never blew a motor, never burned oil.

 

I like this schedule. Been on it myself for 15 yrs and never blown a street motor while doing it


I also changed my 2006 oil at the 1,000 mark and it was filthy...I highly suggest you do it right now.
