TCI Under Floor Brake Bracket Problem

I have a TCI under floor brake bracket its for the 53-56 F100 frame. I have a 54 Ford F100. This is suppose to "bolt" into the original place. My problem is that only one bolt hole lines up and the other is off by about a 1/2 inch or so. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to drill new holes in my frame? When they said "bolt in the orig location" I thought I wouldnt have to do any mods.... Fat chance?

I guess you stuck with me. And ...........nothing is bolt on.

I think there was a previous thread about something similar, or maybe that was the rear cross member interference, but it might help, anyway, try searching this form and if you can’t find it, take two aspirin and call me in the morning and I’ll see if I can find it.

I dont see any rivets in the area. All that I see are two holes on the top of the frame where the old mount bolted up..... man I'm confused

Sounds like time to break out the center punch and uni bit. Also safety glasses and frosty beverages.

I think I bought the same one for my 54 a long time ago. Even if I got it bolted up the pedal wasn't going to come up in the same location on the floor. I called them up and they said it was a universal fit and I was going to have to make it work. I sent it back, something about heating and bending brake parts that didn't set with me.

The rivets hold the section on that the pedal arm is attached to it looks sorta like the frame is boxed in the area, after you remove it you will need the bracket that bolts to the frame then the M/C bolts to the bracket. When I swapped my frames I choose to keek this section to make the frame stronger in this area, I just cut off the pedal arm.

Oh..... Mine was bolted in.... I had only two bolts in the top of the frame. Time to break out the angle drill (cab still on the frame). Mine only had two bolts (or rivits as they may have been at one time). Where is the third one that they talk about? Is it the holes where the running board bracket bolts to the frame?

THANKS A TON!

Al
