Rust repair at rain gutter?
I have a '70 crewcab that has a pretty nice body other than cab mounts and pretty bad rust along the edge of the roof above the little rain gutter on one side of the cab. The cab mounts I can handle, but I have no idea where to even think about starting with that top edge. It is rusted right down to the gutter with an open hole in spots as high as an inch. I'm afraid if I just start grinding away all the rust I won't have a gutter left. Anyone have any ideas how to tackle this? It's really a shame, its only on one side where the truck sat against a building and leaves and dirt off of the roof were allowed to collect for years. Any help would sure be appreciated!

I am pretty sure the rain gutter itself is replaceable.....I would suggest grinding away the rust and use a dremel like a dentsit if needed. If you decide to repair the holes with fiberglass or bondo glass or welding (even better) don't worry too much about it. There is no stress on that area and it is "furthest" from the road. I in the past have used seam sealer and panel cement to repair the gutter and it holds paint and works fine.
