Well, that is just PERFECT. You knew "someone" in here was looking for it, and you sell it in 1 day to the first person who waved money in front of you. I bet the one you just sold had a WORKING latch, whereas the one you are offering me has a broken latch, right? Send me a PM and tell me how much you are asking.

Kick panels I need in CANYON RED. Both sides.

No it wasn't the first person that waived money in front of me, it was "someone" I get parts for all the time and a friend.

That kind of tone is uncalled for. I even offered to hook you up with the one out of MY OWN truck because I felt bad and this is the way you respond??

I think I'm just going to keep the one I have.

MY tone? You better look at all of your own posts, Stosh, almost ALL attitude, so I figured that is the way you liked to communicate.

I have asked you for parts NUMEROUS times in here (and PM) when you found something that you wanted to sell that you either found in the junkyard that you didn't need or had "numerous in storage" and you NEVER followed through! Off the top of my head I can think of the underhood tool box, kick panels, transmission cooler, and a steering column. Each time you told me you either "had it" or "could get it" and promised to get back to me, but never did. I have since bought all of the items listed above except for the kick panels and tool box from somebody else.

I don't use "broken" pieces on my truck, so you can keep the toolbox.

Just found one of these today too. And like Stosh's, the latch is broken on this one also.

Pardon the dirt, as I **JUST** came home with it a few min ago.

Scrubbed and painted the bracket, the coolant/washer fluid jug is already in a dumpster as it was trashed, and will clean up the toolbox itself tomorrow. Will post the "after" pictures...might be surprised. There are no holes in this one, like the other one I found (reference post #3, I think) and although the latch is missing, didn't really notice it until sometime later.

Stosh,
That's such a cool find! I know we try to keep as much factory in our ol' fords as possible, but if a guy really wanted something 'sort of' like this for under the hood, would an old .50 cal military ammo can work in the original tool boxes' stead? I'd think welding some mounting brackets to the can to hold it to the wall and also hold the overflow/washer fluid res. might work. Then line the can with soft foam so the tools don't rattle as much. My disadvantage is I have to haul alot of hay with my short bed and a truck box takes up bed room, so it would be nice to have a few important tools tucked out of the way.
Still an excellent find though!

Hey,the only person who would ever know it didn't belong would only be someone on these forums.I say go ahead and do it.It's just personalizing your ride. And hey,if you spray it black and throw on a ford decal, you could probably have people believe it's original anyway.

I have seen that done before and wouldn't hesitate to do it.

There are several unused mounting slots on the fender and I really don't think an additional support would be necessary unless you are going to put a lot of weight in it.

You could remove the washer reservoir and use the mounting tabs as a guide to drill out the can.

Ammo cans are cheap and very sturdy. I say go for it and post some pics.

Those ammo boxes are tough and have an excellent seal; been using them on my pontoon boat to store stuff you don't want to sink (cell phone/wallet/car keys). They have seen their share of salt water, the outsides look a little rough now but the inside is clean and dry.
I've been thinking of fabing a faux factory toolbox for my F250 but I think I'll devide mine up for half aux electrical junction box (relays, fuse panel, buss connections) and half storage (inverter maybe, nice to have 120V AC).
