Where to buy New Cam Positon Sensor?

So the dealer called me and said to come in and we will look at your CPS.

I think I would rather put a new one on my own.

I wondered where is everyone buying extra cps? online somewhere?

Should I let the dealer mess with my rig or just do it myself? Anyone have bad experience?

The original sensor was replaced on 20th oct 2006, so I am assuming I need a new one.

Any input????

Thanks

you can find them on ebay or go to a local international dealer or ford dealer to pick one up. or you could order one online....

Do you have an International dealer near you? If so ask for a CPS for a T444E......Don't say 7.3 they may not sell it to you.

Go to the dealer and pick up a spare, but leave the black CPS you have now in the truck. DO NOT let them change it. There have been several reports where the new CPS causes a rougher idle and contribution faults on cylinder 3 & 8.

The new ones from the dealer should be around $25. You can save a little bit if you shop at one of our sponsors, but after shipping costs, you'll likely only save a couple of dollars.

So I should just leave the one currently in it and buy a new one for a spare.

Thats what I would do. I had mine go out 1/07', went to the dealer and bought a new one for 197.00, it was black, then went and had the recall done last year. I don't have a problem with the gray one, but wish I had the black one back. I do have 2 gray CPS in my glove box. 1 for me and 1 for the guy on the side of the road that don't know about FTE.

Mine is good. There was a few issues with a few people that changed theirs. I do think most don't have a issue.

no I am not but my dealer called me and said to come in and have your recall looked at. Which I know is the cps unit.

I wondered where people where buying the unit, and how much it cost?
