I second DJdemon6696, big wheels are not my style, esspecially on these trucks. Go with a 15" on a F150 or 16-16.5" on a F250/F350. Small wheels and big rubber are the way to go for wheelin'. If you don't plan on doing any wheelin', why get a 40" tire? Jacking up your truck and putting those tires under it will make it unstable and drive worse on the road, why do this if you are not going to use it offroad?

its all personal opinion i guess, i prefer more rim less rubber. i have 16.5" rims now with 38.5" superswampers, kinda tired of it and i doubt 40" mud country will drive worse then 38.5" swampers which i drive now doing 70,loL!

I think your truck looks better the way it is. I hate all those "bling" type of wheels.

The big modern style wheels really do not look right on the older cars and trucks from the 90's on back.

well i seen a 87 crew cab around my way a while back, had the 20/40 setup and it looked pretty good. either way they will be on in a week, ill post back some pics when on. i think bigger rims look especially better on the older vehicles, newer vehicles are coming facotry with big rims so its not as much of a change to see them with big rims. 20's are still small with whats out there, ive seen big tires with up to 24" rims on the new f350's and excursions. and "blingy" to me means all chrome or spinners, not all black ??

The new trucks are comming factory with bigger wheels because the new trucks are Huge thay need bigger wheels to look right. I think the biggest wheel for the 9th gen f-1's and older is 18's, But thats me its your truck get what you like, Post them up if you get some.

I love the look of the factory Aluminum wheels that came on my 97 F350, and wanted to keep the look when I lifted it. I went with the Weld Super Single II's (gallery) and love them.

Although I would love to see how a set of 18" wheels would look with the same tires, or possibly with the Toyo MT's (which will be my next tire).

I don't think I would go much bigger than 18" wheels on my truck, but to each his own. Looking forward to seeing how your new wheels look.

well there on, they are HUGE,loL! one good thing is they ride like a small tire, no road noise or vibrations, much better ride then the superswampers ( no surprise there) . nice!!

I think the more wheel less tire gives a stiffer ride but less sway so its a bit of give and take.

yeah it is a stiffer ride but not that much diff compared to the 38.5's, but with the lift and all it isnt a soft ride anyway,loL! i just know to compare these 40's with the 38.5" swampers the 40"s ride like a regular car tire, actually pretty surprised how quite and smooth of a ride they give for there size.
