Well, Friday I went through the front end (ball joints, shocks, tie rods, idler arm, sway bar bushings) since the kid will start driving it here soon. Took it in yesterday for an alignment, and when the wife and kid picked it up, the bearing failed in the parking lot of the alignment place. So, I figured, instead of towing it home, I'd have them do it. I normally don't let people do this kind of work for me. But, since I'm working 6-12's right now, and really don't have the time, I figured I'd let these guys do it. I've bought all of my tires, for all of my trucks, boats, trailers from them. I'm going to give them hell for charging me over 250% for the bearing. If they dont' make it good, I'll let them know I'm done with them, and I'll tell everyone I work with (at the electric utility) what they did. We'll see, they'll probably do nothing, and I'll be done with them.

howdy all,
damn pat i would too. hell i could have done it cheaper myself. les swabb tried to do that to erin when she had the tires on the ranger rotated. they told her 800$ for brakes. and i just looked at them before i left and they were fine. i had her take it up to the tranny shop for the axle seal and clay only charged me 85$. he's pretty cool guy. so i just told erin to take it up there for what ever the truck or my car needs. after all i did buy the shadow from his mom.

yeah i hear ya so you had no choice. i hate when that happens. sometimes i think its planned by them. like i said i just checked the ranger out before i left and it was fine the only thing was the axle seal leak. and clay fixed that. normally i do all the repair work on my cars and my truck but its hard to do when your 1700 miles away.

its also hard to do when youre busy with work. i had my exploder serviced by a mechanic for the first time since i became its full fledged owner back in november. im kinda glad they did it cause it still had the original fuel filter and it took em almost an hour to break it loose and change it.
